NEW SUPPLY SHARED EQUITY SCHEME

New Supply Shared Equity Scheme (Shared Equity) is a scheme to help people on modest incomes who wish to own their home but who cannot afford to pay the full price for a house. Shared Equity means the Association will keep a financial stake in the property (this is known as a ‘golden share’ and will be not less than 20%) so the occupier does not have to fund the cost of all of the property. The occupier will need to purchase the majority share in the property but will own the property outright. After 2 years, if the occupier has a stake of less than 80%, the occupier can increase this stake to the maximum 80%.
