When a vacancy arises, a suitable allocation will be made to an applicant on the Highland Housing Register in accordance with our Allocations Policy. If you are not on the Highland Housing Register, you will not be eligible to be allocated a property.
This autumn, we completed 17 flats for affordable rent at the former Rapson's bus garage site on Park Road, behind Tigh na Sgire, Portree.
We are currently on site at Struan Road, Portree, which comprises 12 flats adjacent to West Highland College and a further 16 flats at Northview, Portree. The work on both sites has slowed down due to a delay in obtaining water supply connections. This will unfortunately affect the completion date which will be published as soon as we are informed by Scottish Water. Currently both sites are still due to finish in early 2021.We are on site with 6 flats for affordable rent at the former Hydro shop site in Main Street, Kyle, scheduled for completion late 2020.
We are also on site in Staffin – 2 houses for affordable rent for LSHA, 2 for rent via the Rural Housing Fund for Staffin Community Trust and 2 Rent To Buy properties for the Highland Small Community Housing Trust.
Plans are well advanced for 24 affordable rented properties at Campbell's Farm, Phase 4, Broadford, and Kyleakin Feus Phase 2, comprising 28 properties for affordable rent.
