Many of our tenants have received contact from their electricity suppliers in recent months arranging appointments to upgrade from the old RTS (Radio Tele-switch) meters to a smart meter before the signal gets shutdown.

We have received confirmation that the switch off in our area has begun, so it’s vital to check if your heating and hot water is continuing to function in the expected way.

Our Energy Adviser, Lewis, has been busy supporting our tenants to engage with suppliers and speed up the process of replacement, if they have been unsuccessful in being allocated an appointment on previous attempts.

With the change over from ‘type of use’ tariffs to ‘time of use’,  it’s also important to make sure the tariff being selected matches the heating/hot water system in your property. It’s also important that the off-peak times on offer for the tariff chosen, match your capabilities to maximise the pattern of usage away from peak rates.

If you require further advice regarding RTS or suspect your costs have increased since your smart meter has been fitted, then please reach out to our energy adviser for support.

Please contact your supplier at the earliest opportunity to report any issues if you have not already had your smart meter fitted.
